OUR VISION

To work in harmony with people and planet.

To create with intention so change is possible.

To champion fibres that are circular,

regenerative & renewable.

This isn’t our first rodeo. Sustainability has been at our heart for almost a decade and while each year sees us facing new challenges our determination to be better, drive change and play our part in the global Climate Emergency has not wavered. You could say, if anything – we’re braver, clearer and frankly – gutsier.

SPELL IS PROUDLY

B CORP CERTIFIED

Following years of dedicated effort to undertake the rigorous assessment by B Lab, we have become a Certified B Corporation. This global certification recognises organisations that utilise thriving business as a force for good and meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Continuous improvement is essential to find a sustainable balance in global production and consumption practices. In becoming B Corp Certified we have joined a community of organisations that are working to change the rules of the game ~ leading a global movement that shifts business focus towards purpose and positive impact generation. As they say, if you want to move mountains, we have to do it together and we are so proud and excited for what comes next!

SPELL IS CARBON NEUTRAL

Spell is carbon neutral certified for our organisation by Climate Active, Australia’s government-backed carbon neutral certification program. This certification extends to our global operations, including our business activities in Byron Bay, business travel, as well as the packaging and shipping of our products all around the world. Being carbon neutral in our operations is a significant step towards reducing our environmental footprint as part of our 2025 Sustainability Roadmap.

Climate Active certification means Spell has reduced our business’ emissions where possible and compensated for the remainder by investing in carbon offset projects to fully balance their emissions. By achieving this certification, we demonstrate our proactive approach to mitigating climate change by measuring, reducing, and offsetting their carbon emissions in our operations.

Progress over perfection: Whilst our product is not currently included in this Climate Active certification, we do calculate the carbon footprint of their product fibres with the goal to reduce emissions in line with Science Based Targets. Read more about this in our latest Impact Report.
